Objective
Rebrand for commission artist Ivy Ogoe’s Victoria Artistry featuring both a wordmark and symbol that would successfully avoid being associated with or mistaken for the existing, well known V&A (Victoria & Albert) museum, whilst still evoking a sense and brand identity of luxury.
What we've done
1. Brand discovery
2. Logo design
3. Pattern design
4. Packaging design
5. Developed official brand guideline
6. Event marketing asset design
Creative Process
1. Research: Brand discovery conducted with client to delve into desired market positioning
2. Sketching: Using the insights from the discovery, logo concepts where sketched to explore different design directions.
3. Digital Design: After reviewing the sketches with the client, the final favourite was created digitally on Adobe Illustrator.
4. Refinement: I refined the chosen design based on the client's feedback and made small adjustments to ensure it was the best representation of their brand.
5. Finalization: I delivered the final logo design in various file formats to ensure that it was suitable for both digital and print use.
Results
By certifying VA's market positioning we were able to discover the brand's niche and used this to influence the brand identity. VA now has a brand that embodies the duality of luxury and art expression symbolising clear positioning and consistent branding.
Conclusion
With Victoria Artistry's main style of artworking being pencil drawings and continous line art, the logo created includes this type of work. The logo reflects what she loves to create and uses gestalt theory as the symbol also resembles the brand’s initials.
